3. Keep in mind that pain is positive.

Even though this is easier said than done, being able to think of pain positively will benefit marathon runners a lot. Associate pain with a positive though so that it won’t be able to bother you very much. Managing pain is very easy if you have a positive mind.

4. Concentrate on your goal.

You have to be mentally tough if you want to become a marathon runner. When you are running and you start to feel pain, you should learn how to endure it by keeping your goals in mind. Once you are able to cross that line and you reach your goal, all your hard work and sacrifices will eventually pay off. When you have a positive mind, you will be able to finish your marathon and at the same time, you will also have a good shot at beating your personal best. For as long as you keep the finish line and your achievements in your mind, you will be a successful marathon runner.
